Chandpur Govt College was established in 1946. Intermediate Science Course was also started from that time. BSc. (Pass) Course was introduced from 1963. This department Started BSc. (Hons) Course in 1996-1997 Session with 30 students. Among them 11 students got 1st Class in BSc. (Hons) Final Examination and MSc. Course Started in 1999-2000 Session with 30 Students. Among them 04 Students got 1st Class in MSc. Final Examination.
